Sicels is an independent accessories brand founded in 2020 by Italian fashion designer Mariapia Mineo, working between Copenhagen and Sicily.

Trained in fashion design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and with over a decade of experience working as a designer and consultant for international fashion brands, Sicels was born as a personal exploration of material, form and Mediterranean identity.

Natural materials are central to Sicels. Jewellery is handcrafted from natural stones in the Copenhagen studio, while silk scarves and textile pieces are made in Italy from silk and carefully selected responsible fabrics. Across both, colour, texture and natural irregularities become part of the design language.

The name Sicels refers to the Siculi — Sikeloi in ancient Greek — one of the ancient peoples of Sicily, the island where the founder was born. Mediterranean landscapes, colours and material culture form a recurring thread throughout the collections, filtered through the clarity and restraint of Scandinavian design.

Sicels develops slowly through signature pieces, seasonal explorations and limited Atelier works. Rather than following a conventional fashion calendar, collections evolve over time, with pieces made in small quantities or to order.
